Orchid House San Miguel de Allende

Our Story

We learned it at home

Orchid House was born from family memories and a deep connection to homemade hospitality. Inspired by the warmth of our grandmothers and mothers, our essence lies in turning every space into a home.

Come home to Mexico.

Belonging is a Destination.

Welcoming the way you welcome at home

Some houses keep the memory of those who lived in them, and this is one of them: an eighteenth-century casona that holds the legacy of the Vidargas Castillo family, antique dealers by tradition.

Our roots are tied to Homemade Hospitality: the warmth of home alongside the sophistication and comfort of a luxury boutique hotel.

In practice it looks like this. A breakfast made to order and served in the courtyard, a tea at bedtime, someone who remembers how you take your coffee. Small gestures. Every one of them is noticed.

The roots, told at length

What holds all of this up

Five values

What you will find in every corner of the house, and in every detail of your stay.

  • The house's facade on the street: the stone plaque with the gold orchid and the Orchid House name beside the wooden door, as a guest in a hat walks past

    Heritage conservation

The house is a historic building, carefully restored. We kept what was there instead of imitating it.

  • Breakfast served on a timber table in the garden: enchiladas in sauce, refried beans, orange juice and coffee, beside orchids

    Homemade Hospitality

Every guest arrives as part of the family. Everything else follows from that.

  • The living room seen through a stone arch with a timber fanlight, toward the courtyard with trees and poinsettias

    Family and home

Genuine relationships held up by respect and reciprocity — with guests and with the people who work in the house.

  • A garden corner with a wooden table and chairs, among lavender plants and a stone stairway

    Nature

The green and the living, in every detail. The surroundings are part of the design.

  • A corner with hand-painted antique furniture, wooden chairs and the exposed stone wall

    Authenticity

    Design without pretension. Natural.
